Prague
On the occasion of an international congress in October 2007 we visited the "Golden City" for the second time after 1979. The list of sights in cultural Prague is unusually long.
These include the Charles Bridge with the bridge saints and many artists, the Hradcany with the St. Vitus Cathedral, the Royal Palace and the Golden Lane, the Old Town Square with the City Hall and the astronomical clock, and many other highlights for which a visit of one week is hardly enough.
After the dawn of the new era, nothing remains of the grey, lethargic Prague we had experienced previously. The city is colourful, lively, western-oriented, and still has a romantic idyll.
We were impressed by the artistic atmosphere that can be felt everywhere, for example during the concerts that young people give every evening in Prague's churches. Bohemian cuisine is good (perhaps a little substantial) and just like the Pilsner Urquell beer still affordable.
