My family
I spent my childhood and youth in the county of Fulda (East Hesse). Here I was raised in a family with four siblings in modest but harmonious family circumstances.

From 1998 until end of 2016, I was Chief Physician at the Institute of Radiology of the Heart and Vascular Hospital (Rhoen-Klinikum) in Bad Neustadt an der Saale, from 2010 also its Medical Director.
I was born in Fulda and spent my childhood and adolescence here. Although I have not actually spent a lot of time there, the Fulda region has remained my home.
I lived in Marburg on the Lahn River from 1973 to 1977, first as a temporary soldier for two years, then during four semesters of preclinical medical studies.
I studied in Wuerzburg from 1977 to 1982, obtained my medical degree and worked as a medical resident until 1988. In 2017, I returned to the Institute of Radiology as a senior professor.
We spent five wonderful years in Erlangen from 1995 to 2000. In well as working at the university hospital, we were enjoying life in this vibrant city.
In 2008, 2013 and 2023, our class of 1973 graduates met again in the Rhoen and in Fulda. In June 1973, 12 students passed their graduation exams under our master teacher Ludwig Mihm.
